On March 16th around 2:20pm, HFD Dispatch received a call for an injured hiker in the area of the Hart's Brook Park Trails.
HFD members responded to the area and began a search of the 2.5 mile wooded walking paths. After a quick investigation and canvass of the area, the injured woman was found on the Orange Trail about 1/4 mile into the woods. After a thorough patient assessment and on scene treatment, it became evident that the patient was not able to walk, and moving her to the awaiting ambulance on the main road was going to be an arduous task.

Additional resources were requested from our neighboring agencies, GPD and ScarVac. Greenburgh Police Department (GPD) arrived on scene with a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) capable of entering and navigating through the narrow wooded trails. The patient was packaged and loaded onto the UTV, and then transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Great teamwork, and a job well done by all agencies involved.
