On Monday evening, August 21st, a water main break in front of the Fire Station on West Hartsdale Avenue caused road damage and temporary water system pressure fluctuations in the Fire District's Ridge Road, Secor Road, and West Hartsdale Avenue sections. The water main break was discovered around 8:43 PM by Fire Department personnel when water was observed coming from the ground in the roadway next to the fire station. The Fire Department was on scene with the Town of Greenburgh Water Department and Con Edison Gas and Electric personnel to control the water main break and assess the damage to the roadway. Adjacent homeowners were assisted by Fire Department personnel with basement flooding from the break.

Water Department personnel continued working to repair the water main and roadway this morning. A temporary road closure is in place on West Hartsdale Avenue between Ridge Road and Secor Road. Residents are advised to limit water usage until further notice.
