We brought our grandkids to the Firehouse located at 25 S. Central Ave. Our grandson is a huge fan, and wanted to see the "cool yellow trucks" on his third birthday. Thank you for making the experience so special for him and his big sisters. They loved their visit.

As the widow of Firefighter Dominick B. DiMassimo, I can vouch that he would agree with me that this is a wonderful website, filled with important and key information, as well as the Community Events page. One of the first things he taught my children was fire prevention and fire safety. I'll always remember his "Stop, Drop & Roll" instructions. Another wonderful service HFD provides is the Baby-Sitter's Course. Dick encouraged my daughters "way back when" to enroll in this class. They have never, ever regretted it, and have used their learned information on many occasions, of which occurred during one day while my older daughter baby-sat a young boy (my boss's son), and the child swallowed chemical liquid. She instinctively contacted the Poison Control Center and they advised her what to do.
I commend "ALL" Firefighters, both paid and volunteer, for the sacrifices you make as first defense for all of us. Just like the military personnel who fight for our freedom, Firefighters fight for our safety and our lives and homes and pets. Having been caught in a fire in 1980, I witnessed the gut, chain reaction of the attending crew from Greenwich.
It will always amaze me, as well, the "brotherhood" of your fantastic group and am proud to be but a small part of HFD, if only through the lifelong connection to HFD's FF#18, my husband, and to all the many friends I have gained who are part of HFD.

Just checking the site out. I grew up in Hartsdale's Station 1 being the neighbor of the then fire chief. Guess I knew then I would someday become a firefighter.
