At 0014Hrs Elmsford's Chief, Car 2111 transmitted a working fire for smoke showing from a commercial building at 13 Haven Street. The first alarm assignment included Hartsdale Engine 170. Engine 170 responded and was instructed by command to stretch a line and assist on the "A" side of the building. The crew stretched a 2.5 inch hand line and then began assisting Elmsford members with cutting roll down doors to gain access to the building. Simultaneously crews from both Elmsford and Fairview made entry from the “B” side and located the main body of fire in the "C" "D" corner and extinguished it. Engine 170's crew was requested to take a line to the floor above and complete a primary search as well as to check for any extension of fire. The crew from Engine 170 had to force entry to several locked doors to gain access to the floors above. Upon completing the search and locating no fire extension the crew reported back to command. Engine 170 operated on scene for 1 hour and 25 minutes until being released.
