Hartsdale Professional Firefighters sponsored the first annual "Operation Candy Cane". On Saturday December 12, off duty members took to the streets of Hartsdale, to spread holiday cheer. The firefighters chauffeured Santa Claus and Olaf the Snowman through out the district, via fire engine, spreading holiday cheer and distributing candy canes to the residents of the town. Operation Candy Cane was a huge success with the Santa, Olaf and the firefighters meeting over 350 residents of the fire district. Donations from our members were used to purchase over 800 candy canes. The Hartsdale Professional Firefighters would like to thank the Board of Fire Commissioners and Chief Rush for their support and allowing the use of the apparatus.
