At 12:09 on Sunday afternoon August 30th Hartsdale Fire was dispatched to a report of a person trapped under a tree on Maplewood Road. On the assignment was Hartsdale Car 2172, Tower Ladder-15, Engine 169, Engine 171 with Greenville Squad 15, Squad Support Unit 15 and Greenburgh EMS. Upon arriving on the scene, Hartsdale firefighters found the victim lying on the ground in the rear yard next to a large tree that had fallen, while he was mowing the lawn, knocking him to the ground. The victim was not pinned under the tree, but firefighters had to cut branches and brush away to allow EMS personnel access to the victim. HFD then assisted Greenburgh EMS in removing the victim to an ambulance for transportation to the hospital. Photo by Alan Zale
