Just after 10am on Saturday August 1, 2015 Hartsdale received a request for 1 engine to respond to 1048 Dobbs Ferry Road on a reported house fire. Engine 170 responded and while approaching the scene was assigned as the F.A.S.Team.

(F.A.S.T. stands for Firefighter Assistance Search Team, which is a group of firefighters that are assigned to be at the ready to rescue lost missing or trapped firefighters. A F.A.S.T. must be assigned to every working incident where there is an immediately dangerous to life and health atmosphere.)

On the arrival of Engine 170 the crew immediately assembled the F.A.S.Team equipment and the captain reported into command. The crew immediately began a complete walk around of the exterior of the building sizing up the structure. This walk around allows members to learn the layout of the building from the exterior as well as identifies hazards that can be present and must be addressed. After a quick knockdown by first arriving Fairview units, Engine 170's crew was relieved from F.A.S.T. duties and put to work conducting overhaul (Opening and checking behind walls and ceilings for hidden fire.) Engine 170 operated until released by Fairview Command at 1143Hrs.

While Engine 170 operated at this incident Car 2172, Engine 169, Engine 171 and Tower Ladder 15 responded to three additional alarms in the Hartsdale Fire District.
