At 2220hrs on Sunday March 29, E-170 was dispatched as an additional company to 116 Sherman Avenue in the Fairview Fire District on a reported dryer fire. Fairview E-174 was the first arriving unit and reported smoke showing. Upon arrival, E-176 requested a Level 1 Working Structure Fire Assignment. This added Greenville Ladder 4 and White Plains E-66 to the scene and relocated Elmsford Engine 237 and Valhalla Tower Ladder 49 to Fairview HQ's. Fairview members stretched an 1 3/4" attack line into the garage and quickly knocked down the fire while members of E-170 received instructions to conduct Primary searches on the 2nd floor and check for extension. E-170's crew completed the primary search in limited visibility conditions with negative results. Ventilation was conducted by opening windows and several inspections holes were opened up in the kitchen to check for extension, also with negative results. E-170's crew was relieved by members of White Plains E-66 and exited the structure. E-170 assisted with picking up hose and was released by command and 2326hrs and returned to Hartsdale.
